Cod head

I was lucky enough last week when I was at Filey to find a very generous person who was coming in with his boat after a fishing trip. I asked him if he had anything to sell as there is nothing better than sea fresh fish. He said he couldnt sell me any but he would give me two beautiful codlings. Jack ate one and I gave the other to my Dad. My mother is a bit squarmy about dead things but my dad and me share the same sense of humour.I know Nicholas would be dashing in the next morning very early to mix some milk for pet lambs and he could easily be half asleep so I stuck this cod head on the tap.

Who's house is this

For the last two weekends we have had Ryedale Open Studios. I went along to our nearest viewing which was of Lucy Saggers' work in Ampleforth who specialises in black and white photography. Some of which are on display, and to buy. in the White Swan in Ampleforth. Jack's brother and his cows at Byland Abbey feature in a few. The newspaper took the story up of the photo Lucy took of Betty Fox and her jug .Again perfectly captured. The photos were displayed around Will and Lucy's home. I think she was very pleased with the amount of viewing and hopefully more people will now know about this clever girl.
